First of all, how cute is this bag?! I can't get enough of it. I took it with me to Europe last summer and used it as a reminder of being brave in a huge, new, unfamiliar place. I took this picture of my bag a couple months ago in San Diego when I was standing on the edge of a cliff, not knowing what was on the other edge, and was reminding myself that in the face of another unknown I could be brave.

On this Friday I want to tell you to BE BRAVE! This past week I finally finished the office (I know, I'm only like 2 years behind.) If you're office fans, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say in the finale Pam killed it with her final speech. She had me bawling! She says that it's hard for her to look back and realize how happy she could have been, but for so many years stayed stuck in doubt and fear. She says that she hopes people will learn from her story and go after their dreams and do what makes them happy and to move fast because life just isn't that long.

I would like to share the same message today. The past 3 years have been a lesson, along with so many other lessons, in being brave, risking for your dreams, and just going for it. A year and a half ago I picked up everything, and with very little to go on moved to San Francisco to go after my dreams. It just felt like the right thing to do, but I was terrified. I didn't have a job, I didn't have any money, and I was moving to the most expensive city in the country. I was terrified. But you know what I learned?

Things work out when you're going after your dreams. They just do.

One night I was sitting at the bus stop waiting for the bus that would take me home and I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts, "The School of Greatness with Lewis Howes." The podcast of the day was titled RISK FOR YOUR DREAMS and I want to share an excerpt with you because it impacted me in a powerful way that night.

He says, "I knew I had to chase my quests no matter how crazy they were, what I had to sacrifice, where I had to move, or what I had to let go of to pursue. I've been blessed in achieving these quests and some I gained in a big way even if the desired dream didn't happen. What I do know, is I'll always regret it the rest of my life if I don't go for my dreams. I'll let my creator down if I don't go for my life and live an average life. God made us to live extraordinarily. Sometimes that means extreme pain, heartache, loss, letting go, and having most of the world not "get" you because they are too afraid to chase their dreams. Just make sure you continue to believe in yourself, trust your personal truth, and call to adventure. Follow your heart. Go all in. It will lead you where you need to go." (I've included this podcast below so you can listen to it in his voice. It's powerful.)

Risk for your dreams. Go all in. Believe in yourself. Follow your heart.

"Because you matter and you were put onto this world to make a difference. Now that may not mean curing cancer or inspiring millions of people around the world, but you matter and can make a difference in a way that you can focus on because your communities, your family, your own dreams matter because you matter."

You can make such a huge difference in your world! You just have to be brave and believe that you can do it. You have to take risks, even if that risk is the smallest thing! Whatever it is that is holding you back, just go for it! Be brave! Call up that guy you've had your eye on and ask him out! Apply for that job you've always wanted. Even better, go into the place and introduce yourself. Move to that city you've always dreamt of living in. Call up that old friend that you haven't spoken to in years and clear the air. Book that flight to Africa. Go climb that mountain. There are so many ways to be brave. You have to take risks and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN. Do something today. Just do something.

Be Brave.
